Headstocks temporarily removed to allow fitting of more brackets. These corner brackets also help position the buffers.

When the TR volunteers started to dismantle Van 6's body for restoration, they discovered that two of the roof-sticks were a bit below standard, due [mainly] to rotten wood, plus the physical expansion that occurs when an iron nail rusts has started to induce splits. We've made three new roof-sticks, and the better of the two originals can be repaired. Once they have all been painted, I don't think you would be able to tell them apart ...

Almost fully painted - just some touching up to do on the centre spine pieces. The wheels are in place, leaving a couple of minor jobs to finish - fit the corner interior plates and the end caps on the headstocks. [plus change the temporary bar for the proper bolts, which still haven't been delivered].
