Stencilled fleet number. Possibly the BHR rather than the LMSR number - will check. . e2a = Port of Bristol Authority numbered their waggons with year and accession references. So, this is the 45th waggon obtained in 1966.

Drawgear pivot - to the "hook" behind the camera with the central "compensation "springs and to the drawhook at the far end [these take up some of the snatches when setting the train in motion and transfer the pull to the next vehicle]

Overall, the woodwork is all scrap. But the metal chassis will clean up nicely for a display vehicle that will not be a runner.

Fairly decent condition disc wheels, the curved strips to the right are meant to prevent the drop-down side door from opening too far.

Some rotten side planks, so that's about 2" thick maybe 2.5" in other places, which fits with some info I have.

Palvan in need of some tlc, the graffiti tags are not in the least artistic and only add to the air of neglect and near dereliction.

This corner plate has already been repaired once, but is now too heavily corroded - especially around some of the bolt holes - for re-use and will need replacement.

Even the patch on the corner plate is badly corroded. Quite a bit of unpleasant attention by graffiti vandals
