TRv6 - tucked into the corner
01 Jan 2022 |

With the travels now over, the van's body is tucked into the work bay, which has been cleared [bench etc moved] to accommodate it. The next phase will be to take off the planking and see what state the framework is in after 60-odd years.

Dolgoch and the down train approaching Pendre, the engine is just coming gently into the platform.
.
Staff and volunteers use these benches and the trolley as a table at which to eat lunchtime sandwiches - or an extra cup of tea / coffee, or just waiting for their train !

Not quite the best position for me !
The Talyllyn Railway's No.2 "Dolgoch" was built in 1866 by Fletcher Jennings at Lowca, Nr Whitehaven [Cumbria].
I believe that this locomotive has some unusual features, especially in the motion.

Lining out in progress at in the TR works, at Pendre.
(I do hope they are using proper gold leaf for this, as unlike at least one of the alternatives, the real stuff does not tarnish)
