cvd - regional "R" , 30th April 2021

The number of areas with "R" estimated to be above 1.00 [ie where cases are expected to increase] is distinctly worrying. The "Indian variant" is probably responsible for this increase, especially in areas with a lower take-up of the offered vaccinations. Not my Image ; Fair Use & public information

A few wiggles, but the overall trend in 2021 is downwards, and below 1.00 , meaning that the number of cases are decreasing. Not my Image ; Fair Use & public information

cvd - regional R (12th February 2021)

06 Mar 2021 110
R number reflecting the decrease in infections, regionally and nationally within the UK. Probably best attributed to the Lockdown, although the vaccination campaign should be starting to have an influence on the case rate. Not my image : fair use & public information

The continued improvement in R, mainly due to the lockdown, although the affects of the vaccine rollout is beginning to appear, mainly in the reduction in number of deaths at this point but also as a decline in cases. Not my Image ; Fair Use & public information

cvd - R history ; to 5th February 2021

Historical changes to the R-number, in the UK to 5th February '21. Shows the rapid increase in the cases in September / October and again in December / January, before the Lockdowns took affect - and the decreases due to those lockdowns. Too early to say if the vaccination rollout was having an effect on transmission in February. Not my Image : Fair Use & public information
