The completed restoration (some years later, running in one the vintage sets). I had worked on several aspects of this project - mainly one weekend a month, as part of a working party. During that time I became proficient with the use of some machine and hand tools, as well as finishing techniques. Apart from sourcing the pitch pine for the underframe, I helped with machining timber for most of the doors and some of the framework, as well as cutting the cladding planks to length. Finally, I took part in the various stages of painting ... About the only area I wasn't heavily involved with was the running and brake gear.
