Laminated for extra strength and to match the required profile. These will be machined to shape and then test fitted to their metal counterpart. After painting, they will be fixed in position and the roof materials added.

It is raining very heavily over the now structurally complete PalVan. The remaining tasks are sorting out a few small discrepancies, change some bolts around and do a little more painting. But after it stops raining.

MRT - refurbished floor plate

02 Oct 2020 3 154

MRT - PalVan leaving for Stanegate Restorations

02 Oct 2020 6 226
One slightly crisped PalVan leaving Moor Road, Leeds by low-loader for Haltwhistle to be repaired by Stanegate Restorations. The bogies [can be seen fore and aft of the PalVan] are from a totally un-related project, but are also coming for delivery to our workshops.

MRT[20] - rebuilding the Palvan [Explored]

02 Oct 2020 12 3 262
Dry fitting the new panelling, inside the already painted metal framework. The sections visible are for the ends, and will be bolted into place on sealant to keep the rain out of the corners. This was not as easy as it looks. At some point in the past, this PalVan has had al least a couple of decent prangs, since nothing was quite as square as it should be.
