The 'dutch barge' known as "Twister" sits in the boat lift slings, prior to being cleaned to remove a liberal coating of tubeworm. She'll then be blocked off on the hard, for a pre-sale survey. She's been a "live-aboard" in the marina for some years ...

The raised steering position on the stern of "Archimedes" [one of the two purpose-built "trip" barges], moored in the lower basin. [and yes, it's pink/lilac ! - not my favourite colour].

The waterway is so busy I had to wait only a minute or so for a large vessel to pass. (but still not tall enough to need the bascule section opened). This combined cable stayed and bascule bridge is an important part of Rotterdam (built in 1986-1996). and the landmark is named after a famous humanist. It forms part of Rotterdam's official logo, so was also included as part of the 93a UK's logo. more info here : en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Erasmusbrug

This smart tug lives in Dudley. "Coventry" started life as an ice-breaker, so the hull shape is not like that of a standard narrow boat (canal barge) - which makes it interesting to helm!

Lifting bridge across the entrance to the main dock basin in Gloucester, if I understood the notice correctly, it is opened on demand during specific time periods. Several narrow boats passed whilst I was watching.

This Dutch design steel canal barge has been a live-aboard for some years. During August 2016 it was lifted out for a hull clean, it is (Dec) still on the hard, so may be back for sale.

Looking at the bows on Antares. This barge was built as a live-aboard / cruiser about 2011. Currently, her owner is planning to cruise northwards in the Irish Sea and visit the West Coast of Scotland.
