The business end of a network of reservoirs, steams, aqueducts and pipework. The station has an installed capacity of 56MW spread over six turbines. Constructed between 1957 and 1962, it began contributing to the national grid in 1964. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rheidol_Power_Station Back in the early 1980s I remember this area being illuminated in a very colourful way, the reason for that, I don't recall just now.

Not my image, so I don't which power station is illustrated here. . Always amuses me when this type of image is used to depict pollution from power stations. For the uninitiated - those clouds are just that, clouds. They are Water vapour - not steam - emitted from cooling towers [five visible]. There are three chimneys, without visible exhaust fumes in the image. What those exhaust gases contain would depend on the fuel, and which "scrubbing" processes are used ... . . Blackburn Meadows Power Station, Sheffield. Currently uses biomass as the fuel. Opened in 2014 by E.ON UK, it was built on part of the site of a coal-fired station - whose cooling towers were local landmarks (Tinsley Towers - the salt and pepper pots - demolished in 2008)
