Following a conversation in another place, I was sent this image, and was given an implied permission for this use, but anonymously. I haven't attempted to correct the colour balance.
It is a scanned image of the Meik lighthouse, in it's original location on the "Old South Pier" before it was moved to above Roker beach in 1983.
Not my Image ; fair use & public education

Rounding Roker Pier on the way into Sunderland, on the first day of the Henry Vernon Revival Row, with the crew comprising six "Ales Angels" and four from Tynemouth RNLI.
Safety boat escorts were "Spirit of Northumberland" and one of Sunderland's ILBs came out to meet us.
The water was very muddy !
[Found this on an old camera chip]

The "Northern Spire" was formally opened to traffic on 28th August 2018, after well over a decade in gestation [design, planning and fabrication]. Named as a result of a public poll in 2017.
It carries the A1231 over the River Wear, between Pallion and Castleton to the west of Sunderland.
The form consists of a two span cable-stayed structure and is 1102 ft [336m] in length.
The central A-frame - The "Spire" - was fabricated in Ghent [Belgium], and was raised in February 2017; it is 344 ft [105m] in height.
The eye-catching white structure is floodlit at night.

The old lighthouse on the high ground above Roker Beach [near Sunderland].
Glowing somewhat in the sunlight, it looks like it has had a recent repaint.
.
Built in 1856 to a design by Thomas Meik and sited on the Old South Pier at the mouth of the R. Wear.
It was moved here in 1983.
.
That green grass was quite sodden, due to all the recent rain.
