Two grey mullet, gently swimming around the pontoons in the west strand, Whitehaven.

Those splashes are from a couple of grey mullet chasing around during their breeding season.

yes, definitely a grey mullet and not one of the dogfish. (tail fins and overall shape).

I think that this was the biggest mullet we have seen so far in 2016.

Just above the rock is a dark patch - which is a gently heaving mass of mullet fry / fingerlings. At least I assume that they are grey mullet, as that is what the adult fish were that I saw previously. Slightly manipulated in attempting to show the fry, try "on black" - the surface refraction is the main difficulty.
