Memorial to the miners of Whitehaven. [2023] Due to the building of a carbuncle, {sorry - water sports centre} this has been moved a few tens of feet southwards, and the car park in the background has been closed.

In memory of the 30 miners killed in the Holditch Colliery Explosion, 2nd July 1937. The ages range from 22 to 57 years. Re-sited at Apedale Heritage Centre.

TiG - Woodhorn memorial

Miners' memorial at Woodhorn - to the 13 men, inc 8 deputies (and at least one pitpony) killed by an underground explosion on 13th August 1916, as they were working to drive a new drift between the high and low mains. This monument was originally erected in Hirst Park, Ashington in 1923. It was moved to Woodhorn in 1991 and restored in 2002. It was erected by the Miners and Deputies trade union branches in the Ashington group.
