Line-up of approximately half of the LandRovers listed in the rally handbook, some in other sections, just to confuse the observer.
That list extends from a 1948 ex-Derbyshire Fire Service plus pump trailer
up to a 1977 SWB that is reputed to have served with the Royal Navy.
It includes a group of 1967 to 1972 LandRover 109" "Carawagon" - converted to include cooking & washing facilities and used for expeditions ...

IIRC this is only part of the dozen or more Series I Landrovers that were parked outside the British Motor Museum when we arrived. This is just a few of them - nine in this image.
We were told that there was a rally locally.

"Cuthbertson's Conversion"
Based on a 1958 Series II, using a carrier sub-frame. The tracked bogies are driven by sprockets on the hubs, with a normal steering wheel.
...
Sadly this modification wasn't a total success, it had difficulty climbing river banks, although given the increased ground clearance it managed fairly well in swampy conditions.

These are just a few of the 4WD contingent - mostly LandRovers, but there were both an Austin Gypsy & a Champ about, plus the high vehicle in the second row is a Mercedes-Benz Unimog 404 ...
plus an Austin Marina pick-up and a VW campervan in the first line.
Note the churned up ground after heavy rain for most of the previous day.
