The "stops" on the heavy duty steering quadrant were in need of attention - they had been weakened by decades of use, and some rust wastage - so replacements have been welded in place. The whole quadrant has been rubbed back and recoated with a rust-proof paint finish.

This corner gusset plate has had a very wasted section replaced, other rust concretions removed and then everything was painted. Similar work has been done in several other areas.
