Normally, In the summer months Reaper visits various harbours and festivals, mainly off the North Sea.
Unfortunately, during the 2016 visit to Johnshaven she was damaged. On the morning of 6th August a gust of wind caught the sail, the sudden pressure snapped the mooring lines and Reaper rolled onto her port side, resulting in damage to the hull.
She came up to Arbroath for assessment and temporary repairs, before returning home to Anstruther on 1st October 2016 in calm and sunny weather.
Fundraising for repairs and refitting is under way and donations can be sent via the Scottish Fisheries Museum, Anstruther .

This is the prototype Arun class fast all-weather lifeboat (ON 1018). The deckline doesn't have the amidships dip towards the water that was used in the service fleet.
These 'boats were in service with the RNLI from 1971 to 2008, before being sold out of service. Some were bought by other overseas rescue services, such as those in Iceland and China.
There were 46 boats built for the RNLI, up to 1990, and one is preserved in the national Collection at Chatham. (The "Edward Bridges" which was stationed at Torbay between 1975 and 1994)

Established in 1803, Arbroath is one of the oldest lifeboat stations in Scotland and the last Scottish station with a slipway. When launching the boat is heading for another harbour wall, so the cox'n needs to be concentrating. The station is currently home to a Mersey class all-weather lifeboat and a D class inshore lifeboat.
