As in many seaside areas some gulls - especially the juveniles - are very persistent in their demands for food, even resorting to thieving chips from humans. The droppings that result from the birds eating greasy fish and chips are even messier than normal ... e2a [2023] - sadly the Whitehaven area seems to near areas with "Bird 'flu" outbreaks, which is an additional reason not to encourage gulls.

Public art along the promenade in Morecambe. We had a little time to spare before getting onto the ferry, so went for a walk, coffee and to take some pictures. I would have thought that most seaside towns would not want any extra gulls, even bronze ones ...
