There are two causes for the increased waiting times --- a) politically, it would appear that the tory party are wanting to privatise health care, perhaps into the american profit-driven model. b) fallout from the covid-19 pandemic in two ways - i) original postponements of non-essential surgery and (ii) serious illnesses precipitated by covid infections or delays caused by the pandemic . not my image : fair use & public education
