IoM[3] - plain crow

Remarkably tame ... To be honest, I was hoping to find some hooded crows on the Isle of Man, but I didn't see any this visit. This one was pottering around on the grass of the sunken gardens on Douglas Promenade, probably looking for a snack. Common or carrion crow [Corvus corone] and hooded crows are regarded as sub-species of the European crow, as they can interbreed freely and produce fertile {hybrid} offspring when they do.
