StoneRoad2013's photos with the keyword: Equisetum arvense

I was not sure of the identity of these white and purple flowers; but quite a few of them were growing here, unfortunately the rest of the flower bed was quite overgrown. Having done some research, they are Acanthus Spinosus - aka Bear's Britches. The weed is the very primitive Mare's tail / horsetail (Equisetum arvense) which reproduces by spores or from broken roots and is very invasive.
