Here is some seating - this set was provided so you could listen / watch an audio-visual presentation or just take the weight off your feet.

I was pleased to see that the management have realised that some of the visitors to this establishment will be getting on in years [and a few may have been injured] so will need a place to sit and rest. Very comfortable, but could be difficult getting back up. Also useful when watching clips on a screen or waiting for other people ... {during my visit I saw all of those uses for the various items of seating in the museum}

Inside the accessible section of a Bure Valley Railway coach. Upholstery is button back and plain seat pads. The latter used to be buttoned, but this was a problem for maintenance. One of the two fold down wood slat seats has been lowered. The doors are outward opening, not sliding.

A couple of tuns [barrels] converted into a comfortable seat, so visitors can watch a short film. {someone needs to fix that hoop !}

The finished result - very nicely re-upholstered. with all the frills, like lights, hat rack and even a mirror.

Design of domestic seating according to musical genre. My old boss - a furniture designer - would love this ! Not my image. Fair use & education / comment.

The seating arrangments, as we received the cars. The benches are kitchen worktop [Formica covered chipboard]/plywood, and the backs are painted hardboard/plywood. Compare and contrast this view with the 'victorianised' cars.....
