Early to mid evening and the starlings are congregating ... They get together - with the socially correct distancing - for a chatter before heading off to roost, probably discussing which lawns to perforate tomorrow, Sometimes they do a bit of formation flying for a short time [not really enough of them to call it a murmuration]. Eventually they will go quiet and/or leave. The later arrivals end up on the wire shrouds ...

Starlings. [Sturnus vulgaris] As omnivores, these two were happily tucking into the seed and mealworms ... These are the birds that fly displays known as murmuration just before roosting as a flock. The roost can be a noisy and messy location, as can any area used during the breeding season.

Juvenile starling [Sturnus vulgaris] as it still has some "baby brown" feathers on neck and head. One of several about the car park & cafe area, some were sunning themselves, but other juveniles - and a few adults - were kept busy checking for dropped food etc around the cafe area. [amusingly, one of the adults was imitating a common mobile ring tone as part of it's repertoire of songs]

Glass is a little dirty, but that's a pair of Starlings. [Sturnus vulgaris] The adult on the left is showing the youngster the bottomless supply of food in the window feeder ... by feeding them a suitable selection.
