The ever increasing commercialisation of various autumn / winter festivals. This is American Christian inspired - Halloween [All Hallows Eve ie 31st October], Thanksgiving [late November] and Christmas [25th December]. The UK's celebrations are timed a little differently and some are based on pre-Christian Festivals. Beginning with Harvest Festivals around the time of the September equinox and leading up to Samhain at the end of October, with Bonfires featuring quite prominently in early November.
