This stone is the "hogsback" an early grave marker, from the style, it dates from the 900s and is probably Viking in origin. The view amidships. The oar racks are just inboard of the shields. The oar ports in the larboard/port uppermost strake can just be seen.

Three replica Viking shields, used for simulated combat at displays. The middle one has been retired, after long and meritorious service in the shield wall. The smaller one is for a one-handed spear fighter.
