An expedition or two - walking Bella - along the riverside and up to the Alston Arches. It was cold enough for icicles on the edge of the weir.

Spent quite a few minutes watching the far side of the river - beyond the actual fish pass on the weir - trying to catch a jumping salmon. I saw several, but my reaction & camera response times were not fast enough.

The flat[ish] land in the lower level of the valley are divided into fields, with the steeper slopes forested and "heather moorland" as sheep grazing on the hill tops. The Afon Rheidol has a number of weirs, used to regulate the river water levels.

There is a weir in there! River in spate conditions.
