Mr & Mrs Hercule Pheasant ... feeding quietly - apart from their contact calls - in company with a (male) juvenile. [Taken via a dirty window hence the haze]

Mr & Mrs P have come for some nosh in the front garden [they usually stay at the back or side] Pretty sure both of these are wild bred birds as we have had a few wandering about the place for quite some time, and earlier in the year there were several chicks / juveniles about the place. I could hear the "contact call" they make when feeding, that's what made me look out !

The only one of five attempts that was in focus. Pheasant [male] tidying up spilt grain from under the bird feeder. Just look at the wonderful patterns on his back !
