This rhododendron flowers right at the end of Spring [first day of meteorological summer is actually first of June]. It is the wild variety and came as a very small plant from my father's garden in North Wales. Normally, these are classed as invasive weeds as they seed like they are trying to take over the world, but this particular one doesn't usually set seed.
