A couple of the benches around Borth lifeboat station. Almost all of them have memorial plates affixed. Borth lifeboat station was established in 1966, with a new boathouse built in 1987. Borth lifeguard station - for some years [since 2001] the RNLI have been training lifeguards who patrol selected beaches around the country. As they are "on the beach" their response time is faster than launching a lifeboat, although they often provide advice and minor interventions to avert the need to take such serious actions. Passed through this station many times, but the first time I've seen it from this angle !

That's Borth War Memorial on Craig-yr-Wylfa, overlooking Cardigan Bay. Today's trivia moment ... It was struck by lightning on 21st March 1983, and had to be rebuilt.

After the weather and tides removed most of the sand, the enormity of the normally submerged 5000 year old forest at Borth, Wales, was clear [20 May 2019] Not my image : fair use & educational purposes.
