This Shannon ALB [+ SLARS] is listed as allocated to Clacton, 13-52 [ON1359] appears to be carrying the name "Chris and Jo West". On display and imaged outside the ALB depot.

Shannon class lifeboats are propelled with water jets. View of the "buckets" - for want of a better term - on the stern of Pwllheli's boat. This system makes for a very manoeuvrable lifeboat, and one with excellent brakes.

13-39 "Smith Brothers" ON1346 - this is the Shannon class currently {from 2021} allocated to Pwllheli, North Wales, replacing a Mersey.

Tucked behind the fence at the ALB centre was 13-40 "Eric's Legend" which has been in the relief fleet since 2021.

During a quick business visit, I managed to snap up another shot of Shannon, which was repainted a couple of years ago (2018). Perhaps I have a slight bias, but I think I prefer Geo England locomotives in red ...

On the 21st May 2016, Montrose Lifeboat Station accepted into service, and named, the "Ian Grant Smith" as the first Shannon to be based in Scotland. The volunteer crew members spent nine months in training to convert from their Tyne class "Moonbeam" .
