Cities are vulnerable to factors such as flooding, wildfires and heat affects from climate change. Some of the fastest growing cities are in places vulnerable to "heat stress" from increasing global temperatures and the population pressures of incoming migrants. Yet some cities in Europe and the Americas are also vulnerable to, for example, flooding from rising sea levels. Infrastructure such as the Thames Barrier will only work up to a certain increase in sea levels, it was built more as protection against storm surges in the North [German] Sea [ref 1953]. {the above is largely my own opinions, based on studying the available information} . .
