HoS - replica Locomotion

A very simplified replica of "Locomotion" and no, I don't think the original had a seat for the "driver"

svr[24] - 60532 at Kidderminster Town

26 Apr 2024 8 2 209
60532 stands ready at Kidderminster Town, Severn Valley Railway after a 22-year hiatus, since she last steamed at the North York Moors Railway. Something of a surprise to me as the SVR wasn't operating service trains at the time. . further info ... en.wikipedia.org/wiki/LNER_Peppercorn_Class_A2_60532_Blue_Peter

TiG[rail] - Fire Queen

31 Jan 2024 2 158
The unique steam locomotive "Fire Queen" built in 1848 by Horlocks for the 4ft gauge Padarn Railway. Pictured outside her shed at Llanberis. [date ??? - possibly 10 Dec 1969 - but that bit of track looks very temporary]. Her "twin" the Jenny Lind was scrapped. Moved from the National Trust's Penrhyn Castle railway museum to the Vale of Rheidol's museum at Aberystwyth in early 2024. . . en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fire_Queen . www.irsociety.co.uk/Archives/29/Fire_Queen.htm not my image : fair use & public information

HWH - Cawfields Quarry loco "The Varney"

01 Oct 2023 5 2 202
Cawfields Quarry loco at Town Foot, about where Potts Plant Hire is now [date of image - not known] The CQR was laid in 1905, and had several steam and IC locomotives. . The loco was built in 1902 by Kerr Stuart for work on the construction of the dam at Lake Vyrnwy in Wales, and is named after the reservoir. ["Sidar" class, 0-4-0 T, works no 748 of 1902] {only problem with that date is Lake Vyrnwy was built in the 1880s} Apparently the local name for her was "The Varney" ... suspected scrapped in the 1930s after developing problems with her firebox. There is a very similar loco "Diana" at Threkeld Mining Museum in the Lake District. Not my Image : fair use & public information

DoL - Dolgoch, the loco

12 Jul 2021 1 221
Not quite the best position for me ! The Talyllyn Railway's No.2 "Dolgoch" was built in 1866 by Fletcher Jennings at Lowca, Nr Whitehaven [Cumbria]. I believe that this locomotive has some unusual features, especially in the motion. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dolgoch_(locomotive)

CF - K1 in April 1966

02 Oct 2020 1 95
Image [scanned ] of K1 taken in April 1966 by T Dorrity. The locomotive was moved to more protected storage by 1967. The sea is a matter of a few feet behind the photographer, and at the time there was no shelter from the on-shore winds and weather. Some of the story of how K1 came to be here, and what has happened since can be found here .. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tasmanian_Government_Railways_K_class addendum - K1 has since been in steam and working at Statfold Barn (in 2020)... I hope that she will make a number of trips back to the FR after the Covid Pandemic, although her dimensions keep her to the WHR. I had a trip behind her & the youngest Garratt a few years ago, the FR portion of that particular special train was behind "the old gent" aka Prince and DLG aka David Lloyd George (the soup dragon).
