CAS - Dun - ceiling boss

So few people look up at the ceilings; because of not doing that, they miss details like this coat of arms and the complexity of the structure.

The bannister side of the stairs at the Queen's Hotel. (The carving details image is from the wall mounted side).
CAS - Dun - QH, internal door

Folding door, with three different forms of panelling. The top and bottom sections are both matchboards, the central section is a combination of fielding with an oval cut out. It is also taller than the modern 'normal' domestic size.
Also, note the varnished wall panellings
CAS - Dundee : a Tayside bar / cafe

Mock station which is actually a cafe/bar - from that platform you can look across to the R.Tay and the railway bridge. They were open, but very expensive and unwelcoming to those who didn't want alcohol with everything.

Impressive carving on the wall panelling in the stairwell at the Queen's Hotel, Dundee. There is another, more distant image of the open version of this design, mounted as the bannister side of the stairs.
Nice to be able to see the timber grain, there was some evidence of repairs and previous coats of paint.

The Kohima Epitaph.
"When You Go Home
Tell Them of Us and Say
For Your Tomorrow
We Gave Our Today"
Apologies for the flash reflection.
My Father-in-law was stationed in Burma towards the end of WW2, not sure of the he went out, but it was 1946 (?) before he returned and was de-mobbed.

All fifteen of the Congress members sitting around the cafe table, we are having a few snacks and drinks after our private and personalised tour around the winery - which included some samples ... I was interested to find out the range of things that can be turned into wine - oak leaves was the oddest, as far as I was concerned.
Mine is the empty chair (CAS to the immediate left of it) - there are some more detailed views to follow, in which some participants will be identified.

CAS - Dun - little Fergie

Very nice little Massey Fergusson tractor. Looks like one of the early "Little Grey Fergies" that were very popular with small-holders.
Seen at the winery.
Probably in need of a wash and brush up, however, the tyres look quite new.

Quite a bit of work needed on the outside. (Apologies for the soft focus - new camera on loan - was having trouble with the controls and not happy with the light levels)

Interesting vessel, glad to find her preserved in the city that built her in 1901, her history is impressive.
