Map of the "old town" - now the central part of the town, some areas of which has changed somewhat over the years. It has a number of interesting / historic features. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bystrzyca_K%C5%82odzka This is the closest large town to the village of Wyszki, where my father's friends live, and the railway station is the one from which we started our journey home, early in the morning of 6th August 2009..

This hot air balloon attempted a flight during the late afternoon, but the conditions were not right and so it was deflated.

One of the local bus services, passing the market place - plenty of passengers and the livery also caught my eye.

Coffee or Tea breaks in the free time between sessions ... One of the areas, normally occupied by students, now hosting esperantists. To be quite honest, those benches did not encourage you to linger, they were hard and the back was square to the seat.

missed it - there's a large cathedral / church to the left ! [ I think it is the Cathedral Basilica of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary ]

I saw a lot of these in Poland. They seem to be what the British call "Living Vans" which were used traditionally by steam roller and traction engine crews during periods of peripatetic work. Travelling between work sites (farms) and staying for a week or two before moving on to the next, used as a form of mobile mess hut and combined with an overnight caravan.

Some very sweet and juicy grapes, bought from a little shop across the road ... with the tiny one hiding until half had been eaten.
