Note the lengths of the buffer shanks and drawgear - which is why taking teh headstock off NER1173 was a little challenging.

Buffers [4] and shrouds [2] from 1822. After having been de-rusted and coated with red oxide primer, they are about to receive some undercoat.

Not the Oleo buffers I was expecting, but still an enclosed spring type. However, these seem more like the Great Western type and not the normal LMS design.
