BHR - electric cranes

"32" is one of last four surviving electric cranes - out of 40 - built in the 1950c by Stotherd & Pitt [in Bath] to hasten unloaded ships in the Floating Harbour, Bristol. Now restored to working order as part of the "M Shed" ... www.bristolmuseums.org.uk/m-shed/whats-at/working-exhibits

A demonstration of how not to enter the R.Avon from the Cumberland Basin / Floating Harbour. Difficult to tell, but I think there is a steam tug on the far side of the square-rigged vessel. No doubt they are waiting for the incoming tide to bring enough water depth to sort out the situation, as the ship's bows look firmly embedded in the mud, exposed at low tide. Not my image : Fair Use - discussing ships aground in awkward places.
