The original [1950s] sign from the Rendezvous Cafe, on the prom at Whitley Bay [near Newcastle Upon Tyne]. Post-covid, the re-opened cafe has been cleaned up & refurbished, but without losing the heritage feel - sadly, to maintain some semblance of social distancing, they reduced the number of covers and are using the smaller tables and have maintained the one-way system. hence the EXIT sign. Pleased to say, they are very dog-friendly. The only thing not on the currently available menu is the cancer sticks [cigarettes] and the cafe has been a non-smoking establishment for many years.
