The original track for the 5" scale model of "James Spooner" - distorted by the weight of the de-railed engine. Some proper scale track is to be supplied for the refurbished model to sit on the baseboard in the new display case.

The decision has been made to put the "James Spooner" model and display case into Tan y Bwlch cafe, pending a museum berth. The space above will contain an interpretation panel shortly. (The gent drinking tea is 93 yrs old and served his time as an apprentice at Hunslets, Leeds before WWII)

View of the case and model, slightly better with the reflections, but I'm not happy with the angle. Some time in the future when I'm passing I'll have another go!

The stained and varnished supports are fitted with glazing, and the base panels are dry fitted. These panels are detachable, which will allow a change of style and colour in the future.

The large piece of mahogany that acts as the model baseplate fits neatly inside the almost finished display case.

DC - taking shape

The strong base of the cabinet has been constructed. The "James Spooner" model is a heavy one, having helped move it! The glazing supports are dry fitted, and will be grooved for the glazing panels.
