Moored in West Strand, Whitehaven Marina. (ON 802 is a 46' Watson class, was "City of Edinburgh" when stationed at Wick 1938 to 1968, during which time she was launched 133 times and saved 204 lives, (earning a bronze medal in 1942), she then "retired" into the relief fleet until being sold in 1976)

The "North Eastern Guardian III" berthed in Whitby, alongside the same pontoon as the pilot boat "St Hilda" (Ex RNLB "Margaret Graham")

olb - solent

25 Nov 2011 548
A retired ex-RNLI 48ft Solent class lifeboat. Seen on the Caledonian Canal. Although wanted to note her name at the time (2008) I was not able to do so (but I've found another shot, which gives it). I thought that this was a 46'/49' Watson, but as a discussion with another lifeboat enthusiast I had determined, it is a Solent.....sorry, my mistake!

olb - St Hilda

The pilot boat for Whitby is an ex-RNLI "Waveney" class lifeboat, now answering to "St Hilda (of Whitby)" and which was on station at Amble and named "Margaret Graham" until 1999. Whitby's own Waveney was "The White Rose of Yorkshire" but she is now retired after serving in Vancouver, Canada.
