Substantial long case clock aka grandfather clock.
Can't make out the maker's name, but it looks like the place of manufacture was Bishop Auckland.

Some splendid furniture on display.
This looks like it is a bedroom dresser, but I'm not totally sure !
.
However, the visible grain, especially on the drawers, is beautiful.

Only three pieces of the house's original furniture have survived. One of these, a large refectory table, which is displayed in the Great Hall.

Only three pieces of the house's original furniture have survived :- one is this large cupboard described as a "cubborde of boxes" in an inventory of 1599, possibly used for storing spices, currently displayed in the Great Hall.

Awaiting a little, light tlc. A Bent Wood chair, from a small shoe shop in North Wales. The chair back reads - agents for "Holdfast brand Boots and Shoes"

Two model chairs and a refurbished rocking chair. The sun refused to shine when taking the shot. ... and it started to rain soon afterwards.

These are two model chairs, the one on the right is just about nine inches in height. They are from different sets.
Peter B tells me the spindles were turned on a hand-operated and home-made lathe.

As a little diversion from our normal activities, this rocking chair has been refurbished. After the removal of the previous finish, to bring out the grain of the timber, it has been waxed over a hard varnish.
(ignore the model chair ... it was in shot for another reason)

A little TLC was all that this little table needed, as being in a centrally heated house had loosened some of the joints. ...
