A collection of up to a baker's dozen benches, some very close to the seawater paddling pool [currently drained] in tghe traditional enclosure. Two problems with this area of Aberystwyth Promenade - rebuilding still underway {old age & storm damage} and the gravel chucked up from the beach during more recent storms.

Traditional station platform benches, plus an interesting variation ... Two luggage trolleys have been adapted into seating, with cushions and back rests. Much more comfortable than the traditional slatted benches !

Benches with a sea view, on top of the cliffs at Overstrand, not far from Cromer in Norfolk. The recent overly dry & hot weather has exacerbated the damage to the grass caused by walking, despite the paths and pads under the seats.

Two memorial benches alongside a wildlife pond. I have seen several people sitting here in contemplation, as well as watching wildlife, including dragonflies. The pond has waterlilies and other pond weeds, it is also quite deep with steep banks, hence the life ring and board walk / decking. The pond is on private land with fairly limited access rather than a wildlife reserve as such. I was staying nearby, which allowed me to access the area.

Standing by the cafe steps, looking across to the central bandstand, while waiting to order some food. I'm told the acoustics are interesting, we had just missed a small informal group practising. Most of their audience has dispersed ...
