Lightning strikes for the 12 hours to 20:56 on 27th August 2019. I live just to the west of the storm track in Northern England. The red colour are the most recent strikes, the oldest are pale yellow. Not my image : from Blitzortung, fair use and educational purposes

An impressive array of thunderstorms over Europe, from lightning strike map, for the 24th July 2019. The newest strikes are purple, then red, orange and the oldest pale yellow. So, about midway through the relevant 24 hours, virtually all of the UK was visited by thunderstorms. Not my Image : taken from BlitzortungStrikeMap. Fair use and educational purposes.

Lightning.map ... Screenshot 2020-08-12 at 16.10.07, not a "named" storm, but a fairly intense thunderstorm covering large parts of NW Wales. I live in the Northern part of the UK - approx where the storm divides into two, after tracking up from SE Wales over the past few hours - it was very stormy for some time.

screen grab - that was some thunderstorm in progress. I live just under the eastern edge of the storm front in this image, which was moving - roughly - towards the North and East. For more than the next hour there were a lot of flashes and rumbles, as this died away, it was followed by a downpour.
