These buildings are part of the remains of Boot Station, primarily the offices for the mine traffic. The passenger station is somewhat further away from the camera. The main 3ft gauge track-bed ran along the lower level at the far left.

Gate onto the fells above the village of Boot, Cumbria. The 3ft gauge railway station is a few minutes walk along to the left after this gate. Take care, it is very wet and boggy in places.

The original buildings are a water mill (Eskdale Mill, dating from 1578), the leat has been altered to supply a new, exterior wheel. (Micro HEP), This is between the village of Boot and the site of the 3ft gauge railway station. Well worth a visit.
