Passed through this station many times, but the first time I've seen it from this angle !

Some images - scratched graffiti on brickwork - in Ranby Road, Coventry. These appear to be WW1 era Biplanes, but may be slightly later, from between the wars. I was sent these by email, but attempting to contact that address has been a fruitless exercise. [Many years ago, I used to live a few doors away from these ...] . . Not my Image : fair use & public information

csg[22] - Bricks [2 of 2]

[941] Bricks from Leeds My late father would have been highly amused by this collection, as he was born and lived in Leeds until just before WW2. This is an Armitage - and is date stamped 1956

O&S - old ghost sign

"Private Vehicles Prohibited" - I take it that staff cars had to be parked elsewhere..........painted over sign on a wall in what is now a small industrial estate.

hin[22]ccc - Barge House & archway

20 Jul 2022 3 2 104
The archway is over the "canal" - Pickerell Fleet - connecting the moats around Caister Castle with the R.Bure, which was used initially to transport stone & other building materials into the castle. Later, Sir John Fastolfe and some of his household and their guests would have disembarked inside the walls. The Pickerell Fleet is no longer navigable as it is choked with silt and weeds.

TiG - ouch and opps

08 Nov 2016 2 230
Apparently, during the early hours "the driver missed the roundabout; it wasn't on his sat-nav". Driver taken to hospital. That waggon is a write-off ditto the load of new bricks, the street lights and crash barriers have also been badly damaged. It took the recovery team until well into the afternoon to get that wreckage back to the road.

TiG - opps and ouch 2

Making a right meal of dragging that waggon up the embankment. Some of the now dead new bricks are still to be removed. This was at least the third unsuccessful attempt !

TIG - cattletrucked

That waggon is a write-off - the cab is wrecked and the trailer's back is broken. The load was new house-bricks, which are now a pile od scrap, suitable only for hardcore. (but will probably end up in landfill)

O&S - dead bricks

Pile of new, but now scrap bricks, recovered from the waggon crash. (8th July 2016) The waggon went straight over the roundabout and off the embankment, which caused some massive delays to traffic whilst it was investigated and then recovered. This route is the access from the A69 to the workshop, just as well we didn't have a delivery due.
