The UK has greatly reduced reliance on two fossil fuels [coal and oil] for generating electricity since 2005, whilst increasing the role of renewables. This graphic does not show imported electricity, now becoming more of a major factor in the UK. For other reasons, the UK's nuclear sector is playing a reduced role over the same period [primarily, the older magnox reactors are being decommissioned]. . .
