SBB[24]/DoL[24] {3/5} - sign

That sign has been there so long that the tree has begun to grow around it. If/when that tree is felled, I do hope they don't try slicing that area with a normal saw, that would get very messy - and probably expensive.

SBB[24]/DoL[24] {2/5} - picnic table etc [HTT]

Rhydyronen is, technically, a request stop. However, almost all my trips on this line have stopped here ! . Noted the new / refurbished picnic table and older bench [one of several, most with memorial plaques]. The oak tree is attempting to eat the sign ... In the spring this station has a spectacular display of daffodils.

TiG - The Halt

This is the old weigh-house for slate passing through Portmadoc for export by sea [as it was known then, back in 1863]. Now, it is the minor station Boston Lodge Halt, and the nearest building is formally known as "the bothy" with a number of more other informal names, it has done duty as accommodation for volunteers in the past, although it lacks some amenities. The buildings behind are the "old engine shed, with a more recently built extension. The seats are a pleasant place to await a passing train - if you wish to board, then you need to give a clear signal to the driver, the route has just started the 1 in 80 climb into the hills. [Done that a few times, over the years].
