Bella has discovered that sofa backs make a good place to sit and watch what we are up to. She does tend to dislodge the soft toys, luckily Beauty has not been underneath ! On one occasion we came back into the room to find that Bella had made a nest out of the heap of soft toys, so far [touch wood] Bella hasn't shredded any stuffies.

B & B have been developing a level of trust & friendship lately. With some hooman help, between 17:34 and 18:22 the two of them shared the middle cushion on the brown sofa and various interactions - mainly stopping Bella from booting Beauty as she stretched, at one point Beauty was investigating Bella's toes, and possibly has a quick wash of one.

Beauty and Bella are continuing to improve their relationship - apart from very minor hiccoughs - by sharing the same sofa cushion. Several nose to nose contacts have been made. The only very minor difficulty has been when Bella has hoofed Beauty during a stretch, and Beauty has responded with a claw-led paw swipe or three. It must be said that is actually quite a rare event, normally Beauty replies with a grade "A" dirty look.

An early stage in the developing "entente cordiale" between Bella and Beauty. They've both got up on the sofa, but are very carefully "ignoring" each other, by not looking at each other directly, although Beauty is purring. They have been closer, with the aid of bribery [treats] and some helping hands. Hopefully, the beginning of a long-term friendship.

Beauty has come over to Ben de-Dog for a quick smooch - she rubs her face on his, if he stays still long enough.

It is quite well known that cats will happily sit in and play with boxes, carrier bags and crumpled paper. Beauty is no exception to this; however, she is slowly shredding this particular box, by chomping off bite-sized chunks. [at least when she's doing this, she's getting some exercise but not carving up the furniture etc].

Now a common sight - Ben and Beauty eating their meals alongside each other, in this case, it's breakfast. Although Ben always finishes first - well, he IS a Labrador, after all - he has not attempted to filch her food at mealtimes. Even when she runs off before finishing - usually because she's still very nervous. . Partly because he's quite elderly, Ben's dish sits on a little "table" - actually a small step / stool. The extra height helps his swallowing / digestion.

Happy New Year, Beauty ! A plush new bed / basket for Beauty. The raised sides make her feel secure and less likely to dash for safety. I'm getting the "stink eye" as this was the fourth or fifth attempt to take her picture.
