It is often said that one of the reasons women did not fight with swords was that the weapons were "too heavy" for the average female, even in societies with a warrior class. In this graphic the usual weights are compared to some modern items, which possibly disproves that argument. Having said that, fighting with the two-handed broadsword at the bottom would not be easy for anyone. I have done some re-enactment activities, and weapons feel remarkably heavy after a few hours. .
