That is a very unusual way to create a barrier to road traffic, it is made up of three stockless anchors and several lengths of anchor chain - the vertical sections have been welded into position. It's on the road by the Harbour Commissioners [?] sheds, just along from the Castle in Caernarfon and opposite the railway station.

Not an artwork - a real anchor, this is a claw or Bruce type. Invented by Peter Bruce (from the Isle of Man) during the 1970s. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Anchor#Bruce_or_claw_anchor for scale, DJC is approx 5ft 6"

Mudhook ie a sand anchor, used as a mooring (at Barmouth - ON 865 is at the other end) On a previous visit, without a camera, this was wedged more or less upright.
