Emperor dragonfly [Anax imperator] laying eggs on what I think is Potamogeton gramineus [various-leaved pondweed] in a large pond in Norfolk. I had been trying [and failing] to capture images of either the very territorial male dragonfly or the female flying above the pond. Finally, I managed this image and cropped it "in camera".

TYP 412 is a Douglas Dragonfly. A transverse / flat twin - 349cc - built in Bristol between 1955 and 1957, quite rare as less than 1,500 were made. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Douglas_Dragonfly
