Turntable [Cowans, Sheldon, 1884] at Keighley was occupied by these two items of rolling stock ... The one on the left is a LNER 4-wheeler, and the one on the right is B 900916, to carry 25Tons ... Rail versions of low-loaders, you could say !

Typhoon and her tender are turned separately, as their combined length exceeds that of the turntable. This is a bit of a task ... and takes time, but provided the photo-opportunity. This was Typhoon's last day in service at Ravenglass in 2016. Please excuse the headboard, L'aal Ratty had a special event on for the last weekend of the October schools half-term holidays.

Just edging forward a bit, it is much easier to use the turntable if the engine is properly balanced ... The driver positions the loco and the guard helps to provide the push as well as doing the locator catches!

Travis frame (pony truck) is now out from under the bread van. This is to be rubbed down and repainted, after any repairs are done.

Just about to draw forward onto the Ravenglass turntable. Her bonnet is a little higher than it used to be, thanks to an engine change. The BR green replaces her blue livery. (Has a little known nickname "Doris" which allowed me to cause a bit of confusion ...)

2-8-2 Davey Paxman built 1923, on the Ravenglass turntable with her regular driver (Peter van Zeller). Used a Porta "gas producer" firebox between 1983 and 2001. Livery is LNWR "Blackberry Black" with red, off-white and black lining.
