End of the Northern cantilever, as it merges into the girder section. Lots of interlocking triangles to confuse the viewer - sometimes the side is a tube, not a girder.

What happens when a boiler explodes ... this is why, these days, there are two safety valves, water gauge glasses, fusible plugs and so on. Plus loads of rules, tests and training on safely operating pressure vessels. [No idea when or where this incident took place, and therefore no knowledge of the fate of the footplate crew.
