It makes a change to find a bird has walked over wet concrete - in my experience, the culprit is usually a cat or small dog. I hope whatever it was managed to get those feet washed off quickly - wet concrete can cause nasty chemical burns !

About as photogenic as the concrete dam at Cow Green Reservoir ever gets. [In my opinion, this is about as ugly as a dam can be, especially given the wild beauty of the moorland setting] The pass valve is set to discharge a minimum flow rate, to maintain the downstream river environment.

Standing on the concrete banking, not far from the Member's Bridge, the steepness of the 30 degree banking is not so clear from the angle of this image. Although the poor state of the older concrete sections, and the patched joints, are very obvious.

Looking along the circuit, from the T junction that leads to the pits and the clubhouse. Coming into this from the other end (by taking the left route at the fork) you would be driving down the "finishing straight"

Thornycroft Bison. An attempt to use concrete as armour for protecting troops defending airfields. Probably not that good an idea !
